My Favorite Shrimp Dip
I've been making this dip ever since my best friend and I began
having
"spend-the-night" parties in high school. The truth is that I have never
measured any of the ingredients for this dip, other than starting out with
a
particular
amount of cream cheese. I just wing it and then call for an
official
taster. Usually,
every one in the house shows up to volunteer for
this
"hardship" duty. Hmmm... Wonder
why that doesn't happen when
I'm looking for
a
volunteer to take out the trash?
1 pound cream cheese, room temperature
4 ounces sour cream, room temperature
1/4 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 large cloves garlic, minced
Minced fresh parsley leaves
Chopped fresh chives
(or freeze-dried, if you must)
Tabasco sauce
Worcestershire sauce
1/2 pound small shrimp, cooked, chopped
In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise,
lemon juice, garlic, parsley, chives, Tabasco, and Worcestershire.
Combine this mixture
well until it is smooth and creamy. Then stir in
the shrimp. Serve with potato chips
and/or crackers. Stand back!
