Herbed Shrimp in Garlic Butter

36 large shrimp
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon basil
1/2 cup [1 stick] unsalted butter, softened
4 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon minced parsley
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
4 tablespoons unsalted butter

Shell and devein shrimp, leaving tails intact. In a bowl, toss them with salt, oregano, thyme and basil. Chill the shrimp, covered, for at least 30 minutes. In another bowl cream together 1/2 cup butter, garlic, and parsley.
In a skillet sauté the mushrooms in 4 tablespoons butter 3 to 4 minutes
or until they are lightly browned. Divide shrimp among 6 individual baking dishes and top them with mushrooms. Dot with garlic butter and bake 12 minutes at 375 degrees F. Serves 6.
