Megan's Favorite Oatmeal Cookies

3 eggs, well beaten
1 cup raisins
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup chopped walnuts

In a small bowl, combine eggs, raisins and vanilla. Let the mixture stand
for 1 hour at room temperature, covered with plastic wrap. Cream together butter and sugars. Add flour, salt, cinnamon and soda to the sugar mixture. Mix well. Blend in the egg-raisin mixture, oatmeal and chopped nuts. The dough will be stiff. Drop by heaping teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet or roll into small balls and flatten slightly on cookie sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees F. or until cookies are lightly browned.

Really delicious! Secret is soaking raisins.
