Lemon Bars Deluxe

2 1/4 cups flour, divided
1/2 cup confectioner's sugar
1 cup butter, softened
4 eggs, beaten
2 cups granulated sugar
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Confectioner's sugar for sprinkling

Sift together 2 cups flour and 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar. Cut in
the butter until the mixture clings together. Press dough into a greased
13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. or until
lightly browned.
Combine eggs, granulated sugar and lemon juice. Beat well. Sift together
1/4 cup flour and baking powder. Stir into egg mixture. Pour over baked crust. Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees F. or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Cool. Cut into bars or squares.
