Pork Chops Naranja

This is the simplest recipe for grilled pork chops I can imagine! I wish I could give credit where credit is due, but all I can remember is that this recipe appeared in the Albuquerque, NM newspaper in the late 1960s. The creator won First Prize in the "Outdoor Chef" category. If you don’t have Cointreau, feel free to substitute Grand Marnier, Triple Sec, or other orange-flavor liqueur. I always add a crushed garlic clove and black peppercorns to the marinade. (MG)

2 pork chops per serving, 3/4 to 1 inch thick

Marinade:

2 parts Cointreau

1 part soy sauce

Combine Cointreau and soy sauce. Marinate pork chops in the refrigerator overnight. Place chops on grill over low heat and broil, turning and basting frequently.
Cooking time: 30 to 45 minutes for 3/4-inch chops; 35 to 50 minutes for 1-inch chops.

How simple is that?
