And God said moreover unto Moses,
Thus shalt thou say unto the children of

The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham,
the God of Isaac, and
the God of Jacob, hath sent me
unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is

DISCLAIMER:
The Faith Food Section of LBC is not written by an ordained minister,
nor is it written by a man or woman of the cloth yet to be ordained. It is
quite simply a statement of non-denominational Christian faith, written
by one who loves and serves the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our purpose here - as in every other section of LBC - is simply to serve
you. Long before the thought of adding "Faith Food" occurred to us, we
proclaimed a very simple mission statement:
Our goal is to provide a beautiful, relaxing
atmosphere,
designed to inspire, entertain and inform you.
Our goal has not changed; rather it has expanded to
embrace a broader
spiritual perspective. We imagine that those of you who have really been
paying close attention over the years already know
where our priorities
lie. It is our hope that the sharing of the Christian principles most highly
esteemed in this place will touch your heart and, ultimately, bless you.
What we offer you in Faith Food - especially in
Daily Faith Walk - is very
personal and, unfortunately, controversial. We are not on a crusade here.
We are motivated by Love in Christ to share with you the things that we
believe make life worth living - the things that bring peace of mind, hope,
and joy in these very dark and threatening times. You are free to do with
this information as you will - take it, or leave it. We freely admit that we
hope you will take it, and that it will enrich and bless your life.

How Power Comes
"Lord, Thou art our Refuge. Our God, in Thee do we trust.
O Master, come and talk with us."
"All power is given unto Me. It is Mine to give, Mine to withhold,
but even
I have to acknowledge that I cannot withhold it from
the soul that dwells
near Me, because it is then not a gift, but
passes insensibly from Me to
My disciples.
It is breathed in the the soul who lives in My Presence.
Learn to shut yourself away in My Presence - and then, without
speaking,
you have those things you desire of Me, Strength -
Power - Joy - Riches."

Good Morning, Lord!
"Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning;
for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein
I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee."
~ Psalm 143:8 (KJV)
"The night is far spent, the day is at hand:
let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armour of light."
~ Romans 13:12 (KJV)

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace,
whose mind is stayed on thee:
because he trusteth in thee.
Trust ye in the LORD for ever:
for in the LORD JEHOVAH
is everlasting strength."
~ Isaiah 26:3-4 (KJV)

"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart:
wait, I say, on the LORD."
~ Psalm 27:14 (KJV)

A Prayer for Cleansing
"Create in me a clean heart, O God;
and renew a right spirit within me.
Cast me not away from thy presence;
and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.
Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation;
and uphold me with thy free Spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors thy ways;
and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God,
thou God of my salvation: and my tongue
shall sing aloud of thy righteousness."
~ Psalm 51:10-14

Praise for the LORD's Benefits
A Psalm of David
Bless the LORD, O my soul:
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits:
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities;
Who healeth all thy diseases;
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction;
Who crowneth thee with loving-kindness
and tender mercies;
Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things;
so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's.
~
Psalm 103:1-5 (KJV)

Daily Verse from
Heartlight
"Because thy lovingkindness is better than life,
my lips shall praise thee."
-- Psalm 63:3
(KJV)
THOUGHT:
"Sounds like the words to some modern love song, doesn't it:
'Your love is better than life.' Well, it is a love song; it's just not
modern. While in the desert, David spoke of his longing for the
LORD. He recognized that life would be worthless if he had to
live it without the love of God. When is the last time you've told
God you loved him? When was the last time you sang a love song
to Jesus? No matter how long or short that time has been, today
is THE perfect time to let God know how precious his mercy is
to you, how liberating his grace is for you, and how his love is
more important to you than life itself."
PRAYER:
"Loving Father, you have sacrificed so much for me and you have
given so much to me. I do not have adequate words to express my
thanks, my appreciation, and most importantly, my love for you.
But please receive my words knowing the commitment and passion
of my heart when I say, 'Dear God, I love you.' In Jesus' name I
praise and thank you. Amen."

for the LORD thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest."

they shall run, and not be weary;

"This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed,
because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul;
therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him,
to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and
quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD."

Psalm 91
(Abiding in the Shadow of the Almighty)
"He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most
High
shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD,
He is my refuge and my fortress:
my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the
fowler,
and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night;
nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness;
nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side,
and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold
and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is
my refuge,
even the Most High, thy habitation;
there shall no evil befall thee,
neither
shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee,
to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands,
lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder:
the young lion and the dragon shalt thou
trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me,
therefore will I deliver him:
I will set him on high, because he
hath known my name.
He shall call upon me,
and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him, and honor him.
With long life will I satisfy him,
and show him my salvation.
~ Psalm 91 (KJV)

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel
shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is thy keeper:
the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil:
he shall preserve thy soul.
The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming
in from this time forth, and even for evermore."
~ Psalm 121 (KJV)

LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me;
give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense;
and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth;
keep the door of my lips.
Incline not my heart to any evil thing,
to practise wicked works with men that work
iniquity:
and let me not eat of their dainties.
~ Psalm 141:1-4 (KJV)

"My son, attend to my words;
incline thine ear unto my sayings.
Let them not depart from thine eyes;
keep them in the midst of thine heart.
For they are life unto those that find them,
and health to all their flesh.
Keep thy heart with all diligence;
for out of it are the issues of life."
~ Proverbs 4:20-23 (KJV)

"He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;
and what doth the LORD require of thee,
but to do justly, and to love mercy, and
to walk humbly with thy God?"

Food for Thought:
"Faith is not a pathetic
sentiment, but robust vigorous confidence
built on the fact that God is holy love. You cannot see Him just
now, you cannot understand what He is doing, but you know
Him. Shipwreck occurs where there is not that mental poise
which comes from being established on the eternal truth that
God is holy love. Faith is the heroic effort of your life, you
fling yourself in reckless confidence on God."
~ Oswald Chambers

"Gratitude
unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into
enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order,
confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a
home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past,
brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow."
~ Melody Beattie

"The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to
an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your
child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your
mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to
yourself, respect; to all men, charity."
~ Francis Maitland Balfour

"There lies within most of us an innate quality that compels
us to give of ourselves for the good of mankind."
~ Clyde C. Kissinger
